The Skeletal Executioner attacks near the entrance of the Tower of Knowledge, beyond the second doorway. Move sideways through its paired axe throws, retreat from its advancing spin, and counter after the leaping double-axe strike. Winning opens the gate to the nearby Crystal Monument.

Reach the encounter prepared

The entrance must already be unlocked through the three outdoor Gargoyle beacons. The seven numbered statues inside the building are a later puzzle; lighting them is not a prerequisite for this fight. Finish the Obmuer Temple route and its last outdoor beacon before returning to the tower.

Save before crossing the second doorway. ShowGamer recommends the Knight’s Camp before entering because the tower’s convenient monument is still gated behind this encounter. Bring healing and leave enough room to reposition rather than entering while already surrounded or low on health.

Read the attacks before committing

The published walkthrough describes three recognizable patterns. Treat them as separate recovery opportunities rather than assuming that every pause ends the boss’s sequence.

PatternResponse
Two axes thrown one after anotherStrafe sideways and account for the second projectile before approaching.
A prolonged spin that advances toward youBack away while the boss is moving; wait for the spin to finish.
A forward leap with both axesLeave the landing area, then attack during recovery.

The second axe is the important check in the ranged pattern. Moving toward the boss after dodging only the first can carry you into the follow-up. Likewise, the spin closes distance, so a safe starting gap does not mean you can stand still through it.

Turn recovery into damage

Start an attempt by giving the boss space and watching a complete sequence. Once the attack finishes, use a short counterattack and move away again. Waiting for your Power Meter to recover helps make those limited openings useful; repeatedly swinging while retreating can leave you exposed for little return.

Wind Dash is a repositioning tool, but choose a destination with room to move again. This is practical combat advice rather than a claim that a particular dash direction makes you invulnerable. The available sources do not establish exact damage multipliers or a guaranteed stun combination, so this guide does not prescribe one.

If you keep taking damage, identify which pattern causes it. For axes, delay the approach until both throws have passed. For the spin, begin retreating earlier. For the leap, avoid staying at its landing point to squeeze in another hit.

Secure the monument after winning

ShowGamer lists Freshly Dried Herbs and Ancient Coins after the encounter and says the monument gate opens. Interact with the newly accessible Crystal Monument and make a manual save; Rest and Save are separate choices.

Continue with the tower’s main route or explore the basement loop and its elevator exit. Defeating this entrance boss does not solve the numbered Gargoyle balcony or unlock the Forbidden Archives.

Sources and scope

Attack patterns, entrance position and monument access follow ShowGamer’s Tower of Knowledge walkthrough. The published boss-order reference also places the Executioner between Dagoom and the Necronomicon.
