The Record of Sin book puzzle uses four deity books and their matching symbols: Sipeha’s circles, Puwema’s eight-pointed star, Wodaso’s cross and Jigeki’s three diamonds. It is separate from the Tower of Knowledge’s six missing books. Match the god and symbol rather than copying the six-shelf order into this later room.
Identify the four-book puzzle
The player discussion calls this area both Record of Sin and Tower of Sin. Check for the deity symbols beside the book slots. If the shelves instead use Roman numerals I–VI and ask for books such as Dams and Weirs, use the Tower library collection.
Use the deity described by each book, not its shelf number from a different library. The discussions call them Puwema’s, Jigeki’s, Sipeha’s and Wodaso’s books; the Wodaso pickup is explicitly identified as Wodaso’s Embrace. Read the inventory description when a title names an aspect of a god rather than the deity directly.
Match symbols rather than a left-to-right guess
| God described by the book | Symbol reported in the puzzle thread |
|---|---|
| Puwema | Eight-pointed star |
| Jigeki | Three diamonds |
| Sipeha | Circles |
| Wodaso | Cross |
The primary discussion supplies the symbol mapping. Use the visible emblem beside each slot; this guide does not invent a universal clockwise placement order for every camera angle.
Wodaso: search the room opened by six library books
Complete the six-book return puzzle in the Tower of Knowledge, then search the room it opens. Players clarified that Wodaso’s Embrace is a physical pickup there, not a book Wourha gives you through dialogue.
A second discussion identifies the brown book to the right of the gate as you enter that room. Picking up its weapon reward alone does not collect everything inside. One player returned and confirmed they had simply missed the book.
Puwema: the grassy cavern beside Gagi’s stair route
From the Deimpo teleporter, descend the spiral stairs toward Chef Gagi and inspect the walls for the hidden doorway. Beyond it is a ledge overlooking a grassy cavern. Cross to the opposite ledge, deal with the enemies and inspect the small stone pedestal for Puwema’s book.
The discussion also describes this as the smaller nature/tree area near an Occultist Josami Warden. Two other players confirmed finding the book after following the clarified route. Do not assume that every large tree-filled region is the same room.
Sipeha: lower Tower secret door
Use the Inha hidden-room notes to locate the ledge above the trapdoor. From that area, descend into the basement room with a stone statue and follow its ramping corridor toward the themed lower chambers.
The detailed player report identifies a seated skeleton holding a Radiant Fruit. Inspect the wall beside it for another hidden doorway leading toward Sipeha’s book. This is a later lower-area search, not the Inha drop The Old Ones Beyond used in the six-book collection.
Jigeki: Obmuer’s throwing-needle side room
The same source places Jigeki’s book in a hidden room near the throwing-needle route and fire-using Candle Crawlers in Obmuer Temple. The Sacred Cistern onward route identifies the earlier Piercing Needle pickup landmark.
That lead is less precise than the Puwema and Wodaso directions, so check the book’s subject when you find it; this page does not add an unsupported compass bearing or an exact hidden-wall coordinate.
What completing the books establishes
The Steam hidden-area comments report the central cage lowering after the four books are matched. They also distinguish that change from a weapon appearing there after later Tower boss progression. Do not interpret an initially empty cage as proof that the symbol matching failed, or assume a specific weapon is an immediate book reward.
