Use the bestiary to match a weapon’s damage type to the enemy instead of judging only by Power. Early published records identify Ratty Bugs as Slash-weak, Chickets as Pierce-weak and skeletal fighters as Impact-weak. This is an opening-enemy primer, not a complete island-wide bestiary.

The table summarizes a published community register; compare it with your in-game entry before committing to a difficult encounter. It does not claim a numerical multiplier or a guaranteed drop from each kill. Variants with related names can have different entries.

Test with recovered power

A weak hit can come from an empty Power Meter, a negative status effect or the enemy’s resistance. Do not attribute every low-damage swing to the third explanation. Let the meter recover and check for Disease before comparing weapons against the same enemy.

The weapon guide connects the early sword, spear and club to the three basic types. Carrying varied options gives you a practical answer when the next room resists your favorite weapon. Endu’s movement remains available even if you use another melee item in combat.

Recognize the encounter, not just its family

Skeletons, bugs and flying creatures can appear in several forms. Read the displayed enemy name instead of assigning the stats of one familiar variant to every similar silhouette. An enemy’s special behavior may also make reach or a ranged option more relevant than a theoretical weakness.

Forest Eyes are a good early example: their wall placement can be the problem even without a listed resistance. Throwing daggers let you address that position more conveniently than chasing a melee angle while another enemy approaches on the ground.

Wourha’s research

Knowledge Keeper Wourha is associated with the Tower of Knowledge and an enemy-research objective. Steam’s official list confirms A Lifetime’s Work, which concerns helping complete that research. A published creature register also associates research progress with a book reward.

This page does not invent the number of entries needed for each dialogue stage or provide a complete research turn-in route. Speak to Wourha during your tower exploration, read the current dialogue and track the named objective separately from optional lost-book collection.

Drops and collection claims

Seeing an item listed as an enemy drop is not evidence of its probability. This primer omits drop rates, farming averages and exact kill counts because those figures require measured data. The same caution applies to claiming that a particular monster is the fastest coin farm.

For collection progress, use the official achievement checklist as a record of broad objectives. It does not replace the in-game bestiary or prove that every enemy and item has already been documented by this site.

Sources and scope

Reviewed November 5, 2026. Early weakness entries are summarized from the published community bestiary; the opening walkthrough corroborates early enemy placement and combat tools. The research objective is confirmed by Steam’s official achievements. Exact weakness rows have one secondary register as their source and are not described as independent gameplay tests.
