Successful attacks develop the weapon you are using, and eligible weapons can evolve at level 10. Holy Sword Endu becomes Soul Bound Endu, while Rusted Spear develops into Jigeki’s Serpent Thrust. Do not apply that rule to every weapon: some have different limits or outcomes.
Level the equipped weapon
Weapon progression is tied to using that weapon successfully. If you want to develop a particular sword or spear, keep track of which item is actually active when attacks land. Simply carrying it in another slot does not establish that it has earned the same progress.
Choose a target you can fight safely and account for damage resistance. Repeatedly attacking a highly resistant enemy is a poor way to assess a weapon’s usefulness. Check the Power Meter as well; depleted attacks can make a suitable weapon look much weaker than it is.
Two documented evolution paths
| Starting weapon | Developed form | Why the distinction matters |
|---|---|---|
| Holy Sword Endu | Soul Bound Endu | Weapon development remains separate from Wind Gem movement |
| Rusted Spear | Jigeki’s Serpent Thrust | Changes the developed spear’s combat capabilities |
These are published examples rather than a complete transformation tree. The source guides describe level 10 as the eligible evolution point, but an item’s own name, level display and description should be checked in the current build. Do not infer an unknown evolution from a similar-looking weapon.
Wind Gems are not weapon levels
Endu’s movement progression uses Wind Gems. Increasing weapon experience does not add another dash charge, and collecting the Storm Gem is a third, separate upgrade. It is easy to confuse these systems because all three are associated with the same sword.
If the obstacle is a gap, use the Wind Gems route. If the question is the storm attack, read the Storm Gem guide. Neither requirement should be replaced with a promise that leveling Endu alone will solve the problem.
Important exceptions
The Trident has a special relationship to temple keys: published accounts describe the weapon breaking into an additional key at its limit. Guides disagree on the exact upgrade level, so the Trident Keys page does not prescribe a universal level-ten transformation.
Pandora Blade is another exception. Community guides describe an unusually high level ceiling rather than an ordinary early evolution. This page does not supply an unsourced full damage curve or tell you to replace every other weapon with it. Identify the item and inspect its displayed progression before investing in a long upgrade plan.
If an expected evolution does not happen
Confirm the exact item name and whether it is eligible to evolve. Check the in-game level and any MAX display rather than assuming a guide’s general rule overrides what the current item shows. Keep the game updated before investigating behavior that differs from launch reports.
A useful correction report includes the item name, its current level, the game version and a screenshot of the description. That is more actionable than stating that an unspecified spear “did not upgrade.” It also helps separate a genuine patch change from a different weapon with a similar name.
